I am in the market for a new set of headers! I am currently running Hooker super comp with 2" primary tubes on my 498 440-1 heads! I was thinking of going to a larger primary tube. What the best header, size, etc?

For your 498 the 2" isnt bad but most over the counter
headers have too long of primaries and usually too small
of a collector and its way too short.... you might try
a 2" to 2 1/8" primary but the RPM makes a big difference

According to an old muscle motors catalog, Tubular Automotive headers (designed by Ed Hamburger) made more hp than all the other shelf stock headers including TTI(cppa), proparts, hooker, hedman, etc. They are 3 tubes fenderwell on each side, fit a 4 spd with no mods, 2"/3.5"
