Will anybody be recording the IHRA Springnationals on Speed TV tonight at 7 pm Eastern time or early tomorrow at 4 am Eastern time?

They focus on the pros and don't give a lot of coverage to sportsman class winners. But sometimes they give a few seconds of sportsman final rounds. If my car happens to pop up somewhere , I was hoping to get a DVD or CD copy of it. (I don't have cable or satellite. ) Last time time I checked, Speed TV or IHRA don't make copies.

Myron,

They show one shot of your car going down the track for the Summit win. However it was dark and I had to pause it to be sure it was really your car.

However you got some "face time" holding the big check over your head with the rest of the other winners while they were interviewing the guy from Summit.

I recorded it in HD on a PC running Vista Ultimate which has Media Center built in. However since XP Media Center they have added a lot of copyright protections that prevent me from burning a DVD you could play on your DVD player.

However I could send you a "data file" that would need to be converted. There is software out there that will get past the copyright and convert it into something you can watch I just don't have any of it. I think the file will have an extension of .dvr-ms.

Thanks Bill. After 78 views, I figured nobody was interested enough or had plans for fireworks and/or watching/recording the 400 race here in Daytona.

So if my computer would accept the file, I could watch it, but not burn a disc? I'm not sure it would accept a file with an hour long show or if I have a program to run it. It already has some problems with some bigger files. But I do have a friend that knows a lot more than I do if I need help at this end. I'm open to suggestions.

I wish the car would have been clearer but I guess I shouldn't complain. A friend of mine told me a while back that it appears they actually speed up the film to cram the sportsman runs in since they have a single show per event now instead of 2 in previous years.

Thanks again.
