it will fit 67 through 91 318 heads with the small ports

IMO,not that good of an intake..but is a gas mizer for the 318s

I have an SP2P on my 318. I thought the thermostat housing was in the same place as the stock 2bbl intake I took off

The intake seems to work fine for me. It's a work truck, and rarely goes over 3k rpms

As for mileage... It got a whole 10.7mpg this last tank

Best for the street, idle to 4800 rpm intake is the 318 Streetmaster edelbrock single splane low rise.

enter the octagon ...

My intake has a 2" spacer for the full pull to 5,200 rpm(shift point).

areoheads 1.88/1.60 318 quench heads shaved .060
factory adjustable rockers
streetmaster 318 single plane
600 holley vac sec yello spring long
340/290 hp cam .430/.444" 114
headman headers 15/8 /3" to dual packs into turbos

should make 375-400hp, but only 240 rwhp.

So let me get this straight, you took a 290 hp 340 gave it worse heads, worse intake and a smaller bore and think it is makeing 100 more hp?

SP2P is a great low RPM intake. For MPG's. They used to say "stock manifolds, cam, etc."

It also came in a 2bbl version. I had a spreadbore model, there might have been a square for model. Never ran it. I sold it to QBird here. He was going to build a '73 or 74 Charger with a 318 for a MPG type build like Dave did.

with a samller engine the cam acts more aggressive. The cut 302? heads are the same valve size, same potential performance.

Headers are added, and a crank scrapper...so 275-400 hp.

with 3.23 gears, mpg wise its around 14-16.

The 290 hp 340 had biggeer ports and 2.02 valves not the 1.88 you have in your heads. Also the single plane you are useing has VERY small diameter runners that are very long and therefore it will be a low rpm manifold not high rpm like a typical single plane. I think the wheel HP you are makeing is right in line with what you have. Headers are the only improvement you have over a 340 everything else you mention is costing you hp when compared to a 340
