i was going to try synthetic in my new dana 60 wonder if it will make any difference in performance? i use 2 quarts as well.

What about when you have an Ultimate60 cover?Does it hold more oil? The level plug sits pretty far above the axle centerline. Gus

Yes it does hold more, almost three quarts. I use Royal Purple 85W-140 no leaks and my rear end seems happy and cool.

GARY,thats some heavy oil. i think that might have some extra drag on your rear. i think the royal purple 75w -90 might have been a better choice.

I know, but Iam crazy about fluids and in my mind it wont break if there is alot of thick stuff in there.Iam not a real racer if my car breaks down,I put it in the trailer and watch.But Iam happy.

The one thing we have noticed since we started using synthetic gear oil in our Dana 60 is the first run of the day is not always slower like it used to be.
