put as many as you can afford to spread the load. i originally mounted my 1 piece front clip on with zues clips but the vibrations & distortion of the body under power would allow them to pop off & at 3/4 track the front was lifting off allowing me to see the engine. i now use pins which are so much more reliable & have never had one come off since.
my rear hatch is still zues clipped on but i cover the clip with race tape to prevent them popping up. good luck with your project.

Someone had a pic of a black E-body at PRP at the
CC race and the front of that hood had a BIG gap in
it at speed..... you need at least 2 zues fasteners
in the front... maybe 3 just to hold the front down.
I have 5 down each side on my car.... use to have
2 at the rear near the edge of the scoop but I now
use a separate scoop that has 3 zues fasteners just
for the scoop then the hood holds the scoop down also

Four in the back, four in the front as close to the front edge of the hood as you can get and three or four , depending on the length of the hood, down each side

Dzus.
You can get them in different lengths to accomodate the wire retainer location (distance from panel), but you're better off having the bracket fairly tight against the panel.
On my car I used a piece of 1 x 1/2 aluminum angle to support the hood & keep it straight (my hood's quite thin).

And use the butterfly type so if someone need to get the hood off.If something go wrong they can..
I seen two cars now get the hoods burn off because no one had a tool to get them released.
