The swivel bracket stub for the kick down linkage mounted to the 727 on my 71 Cuda 383 snapped off flush. I mean perfectly flat. I tried drilling out the broken screw, tranny in the car, no dice. I JB welded the stub and it did not hold to my satisfaction. I don't have the means to remove the tranny. Any suggestions??

are talking about the pin on the side of the belhousing that the linkage pivots on. If maybe you can make over a 1 piece kd linkage or go to a cable KD linkage.

I sent an email to Lokar for the KD kit # and cost.

That is why I said 'make over'.

The kickdown cable setup from Bouchillon Performance is superior to the Lokar unit in my opinion. Here's a link:

http://www.bouchillonperformance.com/BPEtkdc.asp

Another possibility is to support the rear of the trans and then remove the crossmember and lower the engine and trans down together. Might give enough room to get an angle drill in there and drill out the broken piece. Just don't lower the unit so far as to tear out the motor mounts or rad hoses.

Is Mancini's the same kit?

There are two brands Lokar and Bouchillon. Lokar is the cheapest and not as installer friendly as Bouchillon.
