I have a 68 roadrunner 4 speed 3.91 gears and a 512 stroker. This car is the fastest thing I have ever been in. I keep wondering if there is a better cam than the mopar 292-509. The motor has 10.5 to 1 pistons, ported and polished heads, crane 1.6 ratio roller rockers and a 6-pack setup. I was kinda thinking about a solid cam, but would I need different length push rods? Any of your comments would be great.

Guessing 3700-3800 W/ driver? I would go with
the match to the Ultradyn .590-.613 cam and have
the push rods checked for the right length.
Depending on the head and who ported them, should
make over 600 HP easy. What size tire are you
running?

Snap your neck, mega G-force launch, is all I want!

Really need your head flow numbers, induction (manifold), exhaust size to get a better idea of what would be best for your combo, but generally 500" motors like solid cams in the 260 @ .050 range and ~.570-.600 gross lift with that type of gearing. Having a 4 speed gives you a little more leway because you're not as concerned with idle quality.

But for an off the shelf Hydraulic, the old Lunati 30307 240/250 @.050 .520/.547 lift will the MP 509. Another strong off the rack Juicer is the MP XE grind 251/257 @.050.

I also agree that Tim (Goolsby) at Bullet (was formerly @ Ultradyne) is one of the most Knowledgable cam guys around.
