test show a big HP increase with the second application and a dominator will add more.
it causes clearence issues so the 5" tall six pac hood scoop is better.

Another option would be to use the Edelbrock Super Victor intake with MW runners. It is designed for the Dominator flange so you don't have to dink around with an adapter.

Here is another shot from the front. I've been pretty happy with the Super Victor intake. It made over 800 hp right out of the box on this 505 motor.

a think it is a combination of factors.
1. gives flow a ventury effect narrowing and opening up again.
2. adds to the high rise (ram effect)
3. adds more plenum volume important at RPM's and for big cubes

I went with the -2 and the adaptor plate.. There is 3/8 inch between the hood and my vents for my float bowls.. I THINK I need the 6 pack hood,,but,, NEVER tried it without the hood to see if the car ran any differently!!!

I would recommend testing the -3 (4500) intake with a cloverleaf shaped spacer to give more intake volume like the 2" adapter does on the -2 (4150) intake. You have to draw the line somewhere when testing, but this is the priority I would give:

-2 intake with 2" 4500 adapter
-3 intake with 2" cloverleaf spacer(stack two 1" if needed)
-3 intake with 1" cloverleaf spacer
-3 intake with no carb spacer (lowest priority)

But on a 580 CID engine, I would think the -3X intake would be better.

well, I went with the -2 intake and spacer.Other than a port match and smoothing between the adapter and manifold,is there any other work that should be done?
