have a set of indy legend CNC ported hemi heads that flow 450 cfm, and have a MP crossram intake with holley 770's that sit on a 581 ci 11.8 ci motor with .737 lift roller camshaft. i have the opportunity to pick up a indy bathtub offset crossram intake with a pair of Edelbrock 800 performer carbs. do you see any gains switching out the MP crossram to the indy crossram. what i see is the ports match up perfectly with the indy intake compared to the small port opening in the MP crossram? thanks larry
That's not enough carb for that much engine. I ran 2-750 eddies on 431 cube hemi, and it was not enough.
The Indy intake will pick up. Andy F did a article on one a while back over a MP x-ram, and it was worth 80hp. Although, te Indy one he used was an inline, which I think would be the best lid to use on it.
As stated above, a really big dominator on a good flowing single plane is the easiest, and best all around.

I thought that Andy's test was based on wedge intake's not hemi's??
The inline Indy vs a original Hemi manifold is around 50 HP. Don't know the HP difference between a new MP and the Indy.
There was a writeup in one of the mags by Dave Duell on the development of the Indy manifold and the testing he did for Russ.. He quoted some ET differences but I can't remember the numbers off hand. Testing was with a stroker motor.
In you situation I suggest pricing out the Indy and shoot a email to Tim at For Hemi's Only and get a price on modifying the MP manifold for you.
He has several 604's running out there with MP manifolds running good numbers.
