If you don't have the heat riser and you don't have the heat crossover blocked off so the choke works, will the intake manifold get hot enough to discolor or burn off some of the hemi orange paint on the aluminum intake manifold?

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Rob

To confirm, you do not have a functioning heat riser, and you do not have the heat crossover blocked off with the valley tray, correct?

What paint are you planning on using ? if it's MP paint I think that stuff will burn off if you leave the hood open at a car show on a stone cold motor exhaust is still going to pass thru the crossover and heat up the intake even without the heat riser

They have a kind-of hemi-orange header paint that would work fine.

If the crossover is open you can count on the paint at least changing color/shade. I know mine did. I guess if you are going for a true factory look then that would be fine as I imagine the factory cars did the same thing.

It did burn off on factory cars. 440's, if you care, were not Hemi Orange.
