Putting a Comp 23-232-4 Extreme energy solid lifter cam in my new 383. .520-.540 lift 284 duration. Got 2 answers from Comp tech line for seat pressure. One said 110 lbs. and 1 said 135 lbs. My engine guy said 150 lbs. In need of suggestions. The recommended Comp springs 925-16 only have 110 lbs on the seat. Well ...........

I just went through this exact same scenario with my 340. The original springs bought years ago that were called out for had 112 lbs. seat at 1.65 installed height. The shop ended up installing them at 1.7 so only had 96 lbs. on the seat and they had only 100 miles on them but sat on the engine for 6 years +.

This time we got an installed height of 1.75 and the builder put on two different brands of springs which were Erson outers and Crower inner springs w/dampener to come up with 140 on the seat and 380-400 I believe open. I think these are 1.46 diameter and not sure what you need but I can call him and find out exactly which springs he used. I wanted to be able to share this with others since it has been a nightmare for me.
