How in the world do I remove the shifter knob on My 67 Barracuda Formula S 4 speed???
I tried twisting,popping off the top and everything else but can't get it off

If it has the original shifter (Inland with reverse lockout t-handle) the black knob unscrews like any shift knob. Then there is a set screw in the t-handle to loosen it from the reverse lockout cable.

I even sprayed up underneath the knob with WD 40 and got on it with channelocks/rag and still could not budge it!!!

You might try one of those strap wrenches. I think they are available again.
