Pretty simple question, which tracks are fun as a spectator? I don't have a car to race, I just moved to the area, and I'd like to go hit up a track in the area to see what this area has to offer.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ross

I think there are a few "outlaw" tracks there, but the most famous track is the Motorplex. I live in Houston though, hopefully, some Dallas guys will chip in.

I'd steer clear of Kennedale for the most part .
www.texasraceway.com

The Yello Belly crowd has moved over there now with the illegal activities ,betting, smoking, gambling and carrying guns ..

North Star on I-35 is a much better run facility

Just north of Denton, Texas

I think website is http://www.northstar-dragway.com/

Texas Motor plex is HUGE and swallows up a few bracket cars on a weekend show so when you go there its not exactly non-stop action

Ha,Ha

www.texasmotorplex.com I think is the website

New track, just opened in Crandall

www.dallasraceway.com

Redline is a 1/8 mile east of Dallas about 50

miles www.redlineraceway.com

There are a few others hidden about but, thats the normal ones

Thanks for all of the info! Is the Summit ET nights pretty good nights to go watch at North Star?

If you guys go look for me and come by and say hi, I'll be out there pounding on my cars.

Also Texas Raceway is fine to go to on a Summit ET night. I agree to stay away on Friday and Sunday.

They're also racing 1/8th mile on pit road at Texas Motor Speedway this summer..!

It prolly wont hook for beans, but it is technically a Dallas area drag race.

I don't know HOW they plan to do this, not near enough area to slow down IMO ?

But, we'll see !!

I got the impression it'd be mostly a street car thing, sp they wont be going that fast. And if nothing else, presumably they could just turn at the end and finishing shutting down on the bank lol

Well I figure I may try to get out there this saturday or next. Which would be more interesting, Summit ET or Outlaw 10.5?

I've never done anything more than spectate...eventually I'll get my Dart back together and try my hand at the ol' strip.

Thanks to all who have volunteered to keep me company! Do ya'll have a preference on a night to go out?

Oh, is North Star an 1/8th track or 1/4? I've never been to an 1/8th mile track, could be interesting!

Northstar is 1/8 mile. Nice thing is you get to see a lot more passes. Both night are pretty good but I think the 10.5s are more exciting.
