Reverse and third gear don't work.

Which kit is good for a 727 rebuild? I street and some strip. Launch at 2500 shift at 6200.

The $100 NAPA kit. Or the $350 Performance kit from TCS?

Rear band adds another $60. Heavy duty apply strut for the front band at $35.

With freight both ways and labour costs, you start to think about buying new.

The new motor being crated up as we speak is a 400 based 451 with 440 rods. KB quench dome 280's.

The tranny has a transgo sticker on it from a rebuild decades ago.

Still has the forward manual valve body.

Have used these transtar kits..

http://northernautoparts.com/ProductModelDetail.cfm?ProductModelId=9102

has front band...bushings, and washers.

or from bulkpart.com

http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/mercha...Product_Count=2

probably does not have bands ...but has alto red clutches and kolene steels..

I would not buy the tci kit for that price.
