I understand the sequence of 48 inch lbs for the end ports and 72 inch lbs for the inner ports. What i do not understand is the reason. In the old days there were bolts holding down the end rails, but the newer style manifolds do not have this feature,
My stage V intake just uses sealer under there. So the question is...Would i just torque them all to 72Inch lbs?

No clue here. But I'll see your bump and raise you one. Also, could call Stage V, or better yet, call Bob Banning or John Arruza. Both of them have been very helpful when I was asking questions. Barton built mine, now I'm lucky if they answer the phone.

i, as well as everyone i ended up asking who builds hemis, torque them all the same.

called stage V when i got the manifold, and they referred me to an engine builder, (they make the manifold, not sure why they couldn't answer this themselves), who said torque them all the same. tim banning at FHO does this as well.

i don't know the original reason for it. the 48 in/lb bolts are all the outside shorter ones, (i think, i'd have to go look again), so that may have something to do with it.

From the 70 FSM, just for reference purposes.

Yep , that is what i am talking about.

I just do not see the reason to torque the "C" bolts to a differant spec.
The end bolts are no longer used.

I spoke with a Hemi builder and he basically said " I just torque them till they feel right"

that's what i was told as well. tighten them until they feel nice and snug, something like that. 70-80 in/lbs fits that bill easily.
