Evenin all. I put all the factory AC stuff back on the dart post BB retrofit. The front high side flange that bolts to the compressor is leaking oil. I put a new o-ring in but did not put a gasket on it as it didn't look as though it had one originally. Does this require an o-ring and a gasket?

I don't get where is exactly leaking, but only gasket that compresor uses are on oil pan and heads... rest are O rings and one seal to crank

Are you sure you got the right O ring?

If its the kind of oblong with two bolt flange, yes it takes a gasket and a o-ring.I reused mine and it was fine.Look close,my gasket was dark brown or black. It might be there, just wore ot.

Thanks Ignacio, Rich, and Doug. I will go with a thicker o-ring and if that doesn't work I will add the gasket that I just purchased. Thanks again everyone, we'll see what happens.

ok, you mean the FRONT line flange ? still say is just an O ring.

Rear flange to the rear line ( with a pressure regulator valve inside compressor ) does use a gasket. is the 3rd gasket, so just 6 gaskets all around to compressor.

-2 at each head ( 4 in total )
-oil pan
-rear line fitting flange

Just checked on Moparts parts catalog

My recollection of that is there is a unique metal metal gasket that has one bolt hole and one slot.

The front discharge flange takes a gasket P/N 2008388, the rear suction flange uses a gasket P/N 1997446.

interesting... mine doesn't and didn't have and ilustration on my catalog doesn't show. My compressor carries a groove to fit the O ring.
