I was out and about looking for a Dana 60 today and came across two rearends that i dont believe are dana 60s, but am curious to know what they are anyway. The two in the middle are the ones in question: Here is a close up of the one on top. And another close up. Here is the one on the bottom. And another shot of the bottom one. Anybody know what these are?

I quickly Googled this up: http://www.powerwagonadvertiser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6002Here's the thing: a 44 looks very similar to a 60, it's just smaller. You need to Google around and get dimensions so you can measure the rear cover. Spicer/ Dana made all kinds of differentials, I think there's a 70, and there's a 53, 30, 20 something, etc. on down.

never seen a full float 9 1/4, only 5 lug semi float (or 6 lug from a dako
There are full float 9 1/4's out there in 1 ton vans.

Well i pulled the two rear ends out today and had a better look at them both. The one with the two ribs is deffinatly a Dana 60HD. The one with the really wide rib, i am going to assume is a 60. The cover plates are interchangable between the two and many other measurements i took were the same. The 60HD had this stamped into the ring gear: 7 8 77 DANA 30360 A3D94X 41-10 (297) the 297 was upside down compared to the rest.
The other rear had this stamped into the ring gear: 3 12 76 DANA 36787 B3D35X 43-13 (754) The 754 was also upside down.
Im going to assume the first set of numbers are the dates: July 8. 1977 and March 12, 1976. The other numbers are a mystery.
As far as the housings go, the 60HD only had "60HD" cast into it. I could find no other numbers on it.
The one with the wide band only had "C-37717" and "82-76" cast into it.
i'm no Dana expert but i bet those numbers are tooth count on ring and pinion. 41-10: 41 ring gear, 10 pinion. 41-10=4.10 ratio. 43-13= 3.30
