I see that Thunder Valley has a mopar race this weekend. I may be willing to take the drive from St. Paul if someone can enlighten me on race(s) available and the track open times or any other details. Rock Falls is closed this week end and I always kinda wanted to run there anyway. Please advise if you can. Thanks

Great place, you will have fun ..

what would you like to know about the track ?
They just put a new timing system in

From the web site, it isn't exactly clear what time they will open on Saturday. I'm not sure if I should leave Friday night or real early sat morning. Do you know? Also, is the Mopar race a trophy race? Thats fine also. Thanks Tom

Gate will be open Friday night too most likely
but, if you are there by noon Saturday you will be fine

My only real gripe of the track these days is

You can not park on the asphalt, those are all rented by the year to local racers ..

I'd park on south side of creek away from the road and out of the dust

If you have a gen set with, otherwise there is a few power hookups around

Mopar races this year are trophy runs only

We are not putting on the BIGGER money race in 2009

The pits are open Friday for people coming early, so getting in is not a problem. Time trials/test & tune won't start until 3:00 or so. I think there may be high school races this Saturday, which runs from morning until 2-3. Yes the Mopar race is a trophy class. You can run test & tune whenever you want also. You can also run the Saturday night shootout if you want and race in one of the classes on Sunday as well.

Well, I'll try to make that. I'll be in the red 63 Sport Fury driving around like I haven't been there before, parked south of the creek per advice. Thanks gang, see you there. Tom

Nice pic of your '63.

I like the blue '64 in the background, with Nanook of the North standing by in the gray coat...

Thanks for the complement. I think that was taken at St. Louis in 2005 or 2006. By the way, I have raced your blue '64 (Bill was driving) at either the Mopar Nats or a Chrysler event somewhere in the past. Yours is a very nice car as well.
