Thought I would share some pictures of my 71 Dart. I bought the car pretty much disassembled in Dec 07. It finally saw paint last month. Heres a picture from the day I brought it home. [IMG] /IMG] It was in a coat of 2K primer and had a new quarter on the passenger side. The last owner (member Moper) gave me pictures of all his work up till I bought it. I decided the interior had to come out to do the jams right. and while I had the tools out I may as well strip the rest down. Someone decided an aftermarket sunroof was a good idea. I didnt really agree. Next time I'll replace the entire roof instead of patching it. It took for ever to get it straight. Lots of blocking, Taping And finally color I wanted a red with a lot of orange in it. I think I picked the right color which is hard to do with a 1X1" block in a book. Back at home I cleaned up the wheel wells. added a Bee stripe from ChallengerGary And started bolting things together. Next up is the motor. Its a mild 360, Ported 302 heads, 10:1 comp. XE268 cam. Im going to top it off with a stock 71 340 intake and a TQ. small tube heads and a 2.5" exhaust. The car also came with big bolt disc brakes, 355 sure grip 8-3/4 and a 833 OD trans. It should make a great street car.

Had some time to play with the car this week so I finished cleaning up the motor and dropped it in place. I used Plasticoat Hemi orange. The motor is a mild 360 built by Moper. Its a 72 360 block that was remaned by Mopar in the 90s. Dave (Moper) added aComp Cams XE 268H and a set of 302 casting 318 heads that he added 1.88-160 valves to. I believe the ports are stock 318 size. The heads were shaved a bit to get the compression up to 10:1. I had a stock 71 Thermoquad intake cut down a bit to replace the old Torker Dave was using on it. I also scored a 72 340, Thermoquad off of ebay a few months ago for $75. The carb looks all most new. Even the plating on the linkage was still good. The 340 air cleaner was another great score. $100 from a member. I cleaned it up and sprayed it with 2 heavy coats of EastWood wrinkle black. My first didnt work out well. The paint didnt wrinkle and was to shiny. The second time I set time I heated the grill up to about 150* put down to heavy coats of paint with 3 minutes in between coats and set teh parts on the grill. Covered the grill and let it go for 15 minutes. This worked much better. Thats the original sticker on the air cleaner that I taped off. Im kinda stuck now. I cant decide what to do exhaust wise. Headers would probably be the best bet but they just wont look right with everything else looking so stock. I really want to run a set of 68-70 Hi-Po manifolds but at $400 or so a pair I just cant afford them right now. I also cant find were I put the proportioning valve which needs to go in before the exhaust and clutch linkage. Ofcoarse I still need the brake line set for the car. I started putting the tranny in but I'm missing 1 pressure plate bolt. I also cant find were I put the starter.

Do a bit of a search, Adam. From what I recall, the Magnum manifolds flow close to the 340 units. I know they fit in the B and E-bodies alright. Just not sure about the A's. They should be alot cheaper and alot easier to find. Still have a stock feel to them, while netting you some decent performance. My

that is swet! and beat the bushes for your manifolds. I picked up a set at The Nats a few years ago for my Charger for $40 when everyone else wanted $250 and more.

Unfortunately Adam is right - they won't fit a 71 A-Body, just early-As.
You're serious? The Magnum manifolds will fit in the smaller bay of the early A-bodies, and not the larger bay of the 67-on? Go figure. You kinda made my day if that's the case, as I've been trying to figure out what to use in my 64.

I don't believe the size is the issue, I believe it's where one of the sides dumps.
