what do you professionals use to clean this junk off the reluctor .... thx

dont know if this matters but when my car is idleing seems you can hear it going in and out of time or something.. ...

....looking at the "focus" work in that photo at least I know why the thread title had "dizzy" in it. Looks like you are in for a dissy of yer dizzy for a little steel wool work. Obviously your car is subject to a bit of humidity.

I've sent a couple like that back to MSD. For about $60-$70, they came back completely fresh. Hope that helps

I don't think i would use steel wool around a magnetic pickup.



it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

I cleaned the reluctor all up.. can you paint it to keep from getting rusty...

Mine looks that way too, I just clean the tips. It works just like an ABS wheel Speed sensor and they work through the rust. As long as the pick up is clean and the tips are clean, why would it not work?

Yes you can paint it... just clean the tips off with
either a scotch brite or some sand paper (fine)
