How strong are Dana 60 axles? I have a guy wanting to trade a narrowed rear end for my stock width Dana. It has shortened and re-splined stock axles? It's been cut to 49" axle flange to flange.

Thanks, Justin

I wouldnt see where you would need to worry about them....They can stand 200k miles pulling heavy loads in pickups

Personally your stock width dana is worth way more money than a narrowed dana with standard parts. If it was a narrowed dana with lots of goodies and you had a use for it. Then I'd say yes. But trading a good stock dana (provided it's a factory muscle car dana and not a truck) for a narrowed one is not worth it.

What spline (17,23, 30, 35 or 40 spline)axles are in the narrowed Dana now? Did the company that respline the axles reheat treat them? If not you should pull both of them out and look very closely at the splines to see if their twisted yet or not resplining axles in a race car is a big NO NO usually because of the lack of heat treating them after resplining them by most shops, I hope that makes sense
