I am working on getting a new helmet and wanted it painted "different"

I have read that helmet mfg's frown on painting them since it can lead the shell to crack ?

Suppose there is any truth to that or , is that just a legal thing if you crash they can't be taken to court ?

Anyway, I am looking into option #2 ..wrapping one

Holy mother of god is that $$$$ !!!!

This place wants $900-$2000.00 depending on the design WHAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does it cost to do a car then

pics of some they have done

guess mine will just stay white

Find a local guy that does work for a bike shop.

Lots of talented airbrush artists out there...

The manufacturers may frown on it, but helmets get painted all the time. Wasn't it either Eric Medlen or Tony Pedregon that was doing a lot of airbrushing on the Pro drivers helmets a while back. They did a segment on TV about it, and I don't remember any negative feedback about it.

I think you can get a whole car wrapped for around $3000 + labor.
Doesn't Chassisman have a print machine that can create wraps? Maybe he can fix you up.

I wish I could get a wrap done on a car for 3k, I think they are pushing 4500+ now. I would get it airbrushed by someone local, normally in the $300 range.

BIG DAD...360 wraps is the premier helmet wrapper in the nation. There is a reason he gets the big money for his work....I HATE wrapping helmets....I put 22 hours into practicing on a bowling ball and still issues....complete cars are actually easier to do than helmets....thats why I get around 4k for SUV wrap and 2500-3000 for a car wrap depending on art and over laminate.

Yes...I can either print it and send it with an install DVD for around 2200....or get the car out to California and help do the install and I'll do it for 3,000.

Olson Paint and Body works in Northern Indiana can get your helmet done for around $450. They do alot of NHRA cars. Indocil Art is the best I have seen on helmets but they are around $550.

A friend of mine does airbrush. He painted my helmet 10 or so years ago.

He has airbrush stands all over Branson, MO and is VERY good. Good enough in fact Id be suprised if you dont see him on TV some day.

BIG DAD...if you want one of the best ever he happens to be like an uncle to me....he's even in the pinstripers hall of fame and has done tons of stuff for Steve Mentz(Muscle Machines) and Disney's Pixar for the movie CARS. http://www.hotrodhappenings.com/Gallery-...ed/IMG_0731.htm
