I bought braided lines and fittings from Summit, nice clean install and IMHO much easier/better than hard lines. If you want you can get a trans line kit from CRT and be done with it, it comes with lines and fittings.
What size lines did you use?

If you want bullet proof use the teflon lined -6 lines. More expensive, but you will not worry down the road about rubber deterioration.

If you use the correct rubber lines you are OK.. I went to a hydraulic hose shop and the sold me hose that won't fall apart in oils and is rated to handle 300 psi..this stuff is used on hydraulic equipment n stuff .. Been on for 3 years and no problems...
it also wants to be rated for over 400*F
