Looking to get these wheels for the front of my '64. Seller says they may be magnesium? Do these look familiar to anyone?

Thanks!
Paul

I've never seen those before (not to imply I've seen every wheel). Any markings or cast words/dates on the backsides of the spokes?

Haven't gone to look at them yet. That's the picture from the craigslist ad. Just wanted to see if anyone knew off hand.

Went and bought the wheels . They're VERY light which makes me think they are in fact magnesium. There aren't any numbers or brands cast into the wheels. Still searching for the manufacturer.

scrape a section off and see if you can light it on fire.

Oh don't look at it if it starts to ignite.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

they could be magnesieum rims

they could be cast alum as well

those look like some older hildabrands maybe

seen those on old funny cars and hot rods back in the day, maybe some ferds also IIRC

the more I looks at them I think they are for ford rustangs, might be E/T mags or some sort like the torque thrust wheels that are big on rustangs

they way its gray/back but has the polished band around it look like the are magnesieum

are the 4" wbp?

unilugs or what?

could be a western auto knock off of some drag wheels maybe

like keystone copys, clean back side with a wire brush and see if there is any marks cast in them

nice score though!

keep having raiders come to mind along with the torque thrust rims

even looks like the wheels that are on the batmobile....and I thinks thats where I remember those from now....think about it..I bet they are the same

Smart move. Can you post a pic of the frontside, but at an angle? A pic of the backside would be nice, too.

Check out www.akhwheels.com in the meantime

If no other leads turn up, email the guy that runs www.roadsters.com
He knows a bunch about wheels.

There was a company in the 60s called Foresite-Ventures that made a few different style wheels and this wheel looks real close to something they would have built.

If you would be interested in selling them please PM me.

You and 6bblgt share the prize. It looks like they are Foresight Ventures Flag Line wheels, as shown on this page: http://www.kustomwheel.com/vintagemags/vintagemagsii.html

That guy need some pics! Magnesium is a very difficult metal to refinish, may want to seek professional help...

What would these wheels be worth if I were to sell them? NOT A FOR SALE AD
