Well had a problem with the radiator last night. Got it repaired & made a few rounds. Got me thinking I should go ahead & get a new one. So how much weight savings can be had with a new aluminum rad. I see a few in the Summit cat that look good. I currently have the stock rad from an V8 A/C car. Its a 69 Satellite. I'm guessing 8 lbs.

I put a Summit radiator in my car (67 Satellite) this past winter. I'm real happy with it so far. Seems to work perfectly, and is a very nice piece. This one fit my 22" core opening like a glove! Dimensions of the core and support are identiacal. I used the universal bracket kit.
(not sure how much weight I saved, but I'd guess at least 6 or 8 lbs. This one has a trans cooler plumbed in, If you have a manual car, I think they have the same radiator, sans T-cooler.

I bought this rad from Mancini for my 63. Its an Afco and it comes with the brackets on it but no holes drilled in it. I had to line it up then mark and drill my holes. It works good and cost me $329. from what I remember. Ron

Cool, thanks very much to all. I didn't know about the alumrad site. I'll check it out.

I put one of the Jegs aluminum rads in my car with the jegs twin 11 inch fan and never got over 160 today in the heat. 500 cid iron headed big block.

Nice tig welds on the rads and the fans really pull the air.
