I've always used regular Mr Gasket header gaskets with Ultra Copper both sides, and have never had a leak on any vehicle. Don't ask me why, but I just bought some fancy aluminum header gaskets for my Jensen's headers... we can all have a good laugh if they leak! (at my expense, of course! )

I have blown out several sets of the Mr Gasket Ultra seals so far No more of them for me now The graphite coated ones worked okay as well as the regular white Mr Gasket ones I thank the key to making them live is to make sure the sealing surface is perfectly flat on all four sides and retighten them after warming them up for several cycles I haven't tried any of the other high tech ones yet except on a blown hemi motor

I really like the Percy's aluminum gaskets, they seal great and are reusable.

In the fuel & exhaust lab I use to make gaskets out of a product called Graffoil, graphite over a stainless mesh, very good but hard to cut. It would allow the flange to slide as they expanded and contracted (which happens to all headers/tubes)

I used, reused, reused some more Cometic MLS gaskets. They finally blew out (steel remained, the filler between didn't) after a bolt fell out of the exhaust flange. I use copper gaskets on the collectors.
