I found this (what I think) is a Tick on me. I was wearing a Tyvek suit and took a shower after working on some weeds and cutting brush behind my fence. Can you tell if its a bad tick or has it bite me. it seem to be stuck on my neck when I felt it. What do you think. White Plains, New York
Thanks Bob

I walk my boy's dog 3 or 4 times a week.
Winters not a problem but summer is.
While I stay out of the high grass/woods during the summer, sometimes he doesn't. He rides up front with me when we head home. Just last week, when I got home, I saw I had a small tick in my elbow from him. I then checked him and pulled 2 of your pictured ticks off him.
I now spray my clothing with Sawyers Permethrin repellent beforehand (Tractor Supply).

You are probably OK, but to be sure, send the tick in to get checked:

Here too. We had a very mild winter with no really cold streaks to kill off the eggs. Usually only find a couple a year but already up to 5 this year.

I think so. The wife said today there is no rash and nothing looks like it is my skin. As per the picture I took after it looks to me like the head is in place
No kidding, it freaked me out.
Thanks Bob

Just clean the suspected bite site with alcohol and keep an eye on it. When I find a tick on me, I always write it down on the calendar date that I found it. That way, if I get to feeling bad afterwards, I can give the doctor the date I was bitten.

I used TickReport.com to have a tick tested and was pleased with their service.

same here as well. my best friend is constantly picking those things of his doggy.
the ground hasn't froze here for almost 10 years, and this year, the only below zero weather we had was the "wind chill" when the wind was blowing a bazillion mph..........
only one snow worth shoveling, and luckily for me, the neighbor kid that does my grass fixed me up by scooping the sidewalk and driveway.
couple days later [maybe a week] it was all gone.

I’d wash the area with antiseptic soap and keep an eye on it. Look up the symptoms of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and watch for any symptoms. Maybe talk with your county extension and get additional info on any other things to look for regarding the tics in your part of the country.

I'm guessing you're good. Picked dozens of them off in a single day. Here's some info from the tick haven of MN. I would wear shorts so you could see and remove them before they got under your cloths. lol Note the part where they say tick has to feast for 24-48 hours to spread disease.

Not sure winter weather has much to do with it as we had -22 (lowest) for a week or two. To the OP, don't freak out but do keep an eye in things. you're likely OK, but do pay attention to any changes in your health. beer

So far I have no rash or any thing on my skin, good news. The tick was only at the most on me 4 hours if that.
Thanks Bob

your good....once they pick a spot they sink in.....you wouldnt of got it off without tweezers and a good tug if it had started burrowing in.. and by that time there would be a redness around the bite.

I went out late night to put a few things in the trash can and had shorts on last week. I came in the house and sat down to watch the news and felt something running up my leg! It was a tick just like the picture you showed, those suckers are fast! He was weaving around my leg hairs like a slalom course! Wifey got one on her in Missouri last month, found it while taking a shower, had already burrowed it's head in her arm, got the tweezers and the head broke off. Had to dig that sucker out of her arm! eek Had a buddy that was hairy as a sasquatch found about a dozen of them on him, we used a lighter and a fork to burn those suckers off of him, it was during a Jeep pipeline trip in the UP of Michigan...
