I need help on getting, buying, a set of valve covers that will fit on my B1 heads with Jesel 1.7 ratio pair shaft rocker arm set up help luck
I have a selection of aluminum cast and fabricated BB valve covers as well as aftermarket stamp steel covers, none of them will fit without modifying them rant shruggy
Are there any that will fit without modifying them? help

I just removed a pair of fabbed aluminum valve covers from a 340, and they're huge...but no help to you.
The would have easily accommodated my old 1.5 Harland Sharp setup on the old SB racecar.
If it's height you need, a company called Medici makes VC spacers, in different heights IIRC.
I used to make them, but sold them all before I lost the rest of my butt on them...

Looks like 440 source is the source, of course of course.

(Or at least they were, at the time the thread below was posted)

Purpose built for that combination may fit. I have not found anything that has worked without at least modifying the rail on the pushrod side. And that includes custom built ones. I'm pretty sure that not a single reasonably priced BB cover will work without a lot of modifications.

Or you can get REAL STUPID and make M/T Cast Valve Covers fit................

This is a B1MC head with 1.7 T&D rockers.

Maybe it's time for a " everything you wanted to know about B1 heads but were afraid to ask" sticky thread?

I started working on a design last year for billet B1 valve covers, that would fit both types of T&D rockers last year. 440Jim was helping me out with test fitment and feedback etc.

I had a nervous breakdown late last year and haven't made it back on to the project to finish it off. I am hoping for to resume working on them in a month or two.

The old style was made in a tall version as I recall, but that might be a little hard to find. Not sure on the short ones. I have the single shaft set up and the short one fits that set up.

I run the 440 Source covers, but they had to be modified to work properly. 1.9 T&D's.

You are going to have to clearance the pushrod side of the valve cover to clear. I use Williams Performance stuff myself and he does clearance them not always enough but at least its a billet rail.

Would love to have a pair of Billet Covers for my 64. As well as my truck

In alot of ways I am stuck in the 70s/80s, and love the look of those.

What sorcery was involved making them work?

Lots of time and trial and error. I made a bunch out of 1/4" poplar before I was happy with the result. They are also o ringed. Had to move the holes in the cover so had to weld some of it up. And had to add material on one side of the holes.

The set at Bearing Burners?

I saw them there and wondered. They are super wide, I can see how they might work
