I thought there was a thread about someone using a more modern 3 speed wiper motor in place of one of the older / original ones. If there is, I can't find it. I am doing a 2 speed to 3 speed in the 69 roadrunner and I don't need an original looking motor (or the price of such). I need the clearance of the 3 speed for a fresh air intake setup through my 6 barrel hood; the 2 speed won't fit. I also thought a 3 speed from a mid to upper 70's(?) may work if the park is changed? Has anyone used a different/modern 3 speed wiper motor?

Also, is the 3 speed wiper switch the same for a rally and non rally dash?

The three speed switch is the same for both dashes as long as it’s a three speed. Only certain numbers cost the big bucks. You can convert a c body and those are not too expensive. Bruce Somer is you best beat for reasonable priced rebuild. The correct crank arm may be harder to find but they are out there. Devinism out of Oklahoma can hook you up with a rebuilt switch. They are both members here.

I agree with FastMark....just use a C-body 3-speed wiper motor. I have one on my 70 Road Runner now. I seem to recall I had to take a rat tail file and round out the opposite side of my "crank" (first linkage piece) since the C-body 3-speed motor I got had the park position vs. rounded side of piece where the crank attaches on the opposite side. It's worked perfectly for many years.

70 Roadrunner convt. street car 440+6, NOS, 4-spd, SS springs '96 Mustang GT convt. street car '04 4.6 SOHC, NOS, auto, lowered "Officer, that button is for short on-ramps"

The motor will. Not the crank arm. Call Bruce Somer. Ns1aar on this board.

Appreciate the info.. just ran into an issue with my 6 barrel hood now. Apparently the original style 6 barrel hood scoop is too short. Now I need about a 5inch scoop height vs. the original 3 inch. I have a super victor intake on my Indy heads, which is really tall. I tried a small air cleaner but still too tall. I can use my 2 speed setup though. I have to find a taller scooped hood. whiney

Non stock heads , which are taller , and intake , again even taller , so sadly not surprised , you could always lower the engine ???

Hey John, it also has a stud girdle so lowers the oil pan. I think I will try to make some kind of drop base for air cleaner. It’s always something!
