But Not me

Guess he didn't want to take this one to Graveyard Carz. Maybe his wallet learned its lesson....

At $119K?? I don't call that a 'way in'. I call that a lose-lose.

Considering average wing cars are 250k and up.

This might be the only way the average man can own one in today's market

If it was as simple as tossing another $130K at it and making money, someone would do it. Doubt its that simple.

Looks like a better starting point

MUCH better starting point.

150k for that might be a heck of a deal

That would be my starting point...and ending point. I wouldn't touch a thing, except the key and accelerator pedal...

I sold my Superbird in 1987. Sold it for $14K and it was freshly restored. I made $10K on it because I bought it dirt cheap and I did everything except spray the paint and build the automatic transmission. Now, you couldn't buy a rusty fender tag from a Superbird for that....lol. I'm glad I can say I owned a real wing car in my lifetime, but I have no desire to ever own another one. I sold it to make the down payment when I built my house, so....no regrets! up

That's a day to night difference, no doubt.

If someone is seriously considering a "project" at $120k, a running/driving comparable for $30k more is an easy decision.

After you own a rare Valiant wagon , nothing compares

Agreed,
Ive owned both a Daytona, and a Bird. Although both cars were bought and sold as projects many many years ago. I can honestly say the winged cars have never really popped my buttons so to speak.

For myself , I would much prefer a convertible. And Having owned 4 or 5 of them over the years, I just might someday add another one to the stable. Maybe. maybe not

I have a different story: bought my Superbird in 1992 and never sold it..and never bought a house because didn't have a desire to own one...but I guess if I sold the Superbird now, I could own a house.
but neither one can be taken with you once leaving this planet...so doesn't really matter

So there’s a new post about the 150k ‘bird…. Sounds like the price went up to 210

That's not the Hemmings ad $150K Bird, that car was a lot nicer. (it was a bench seat auto IIRC)
