If I were to check this thing out....whats a fair price? Cant be much non running.....

Those are kinda dated, but could still be made to have some fun with on a budget. I would not sink a mountain of money into one though. At one time there was some handling and engine hop-up parts that were available for them. I think they were a popular autocross type car too.

it looks like a NON turbo car. and a ROUGH one at that. the no interior pics tells me the jambs are probably rusty witch is a common problem on these cars.
IMO it basically a standard 2.2 charger with some stickers and a little bling. getting it driving you will probably have to replace the Shelby specific suspension stuff that made it a Shelby. once you get it in driving condition it will be a regular Charger with stickers and some minor bling..
depending on condition of interior i myself would have a hard time going over $1,500.. if the interior is in excellent shape, DOUBTFULL, i would go a little higher.

Id run long and hard from an 84. Had one new and was dumb enough to try another used 84 a few years later.

The 84 4 lug soon to be replaced by 5 lug cam eating sub standard clutch and plastic eating clutch adjuster pos then when you do put a good clutch in you can hole the transmission quickly. An old pinto could take more abuse.

In the slow car year of 1984 these things were the slowest of the slow I cant recall anything it would hang with and all while watching the front brake pads smoke and sizzle like a charcoal grill just trying to stay in the group even on braking.

Early years of the rubber band tires in which one bad pot hole and your going to need both tires on that side you hit the hole. I bought it because it looked sporty and was a dodge. Now the rice powered... twin stick turbo colt I bought that same year was 10x the car.

Best fair offer IMO is no offer.

Having worked at a Chrysler Plymouth dealership in 86 & 87, you couldn't give me a non-turbo Mopar from that era. When Chrysler added the turbo, the drive train improved dramatically. Without the turbo, the Shelby was a glitzy car with nothing special backing it up. That turbo 5 speed version was a completely different story.

I had both and you are spot on! Just sold the 85 last year after buying it in 1986, wish I would have had the will to restore it...

I would like to have one , But a turbo car is a must.
IMO, non turbo cars are a parts cars . I would not give more than $500 for it

I was approached by a gent at a former job not long ago. He had almost the same car up for sale and asked if I was interested. After reviewing the pics and confirming a non turbo car that needed an engine and an entire mechanical refurbishing, I made the offer if he paid to have it towed to my house, Id take it off his hands.

There's really no way of knowing, or even guessing, given that there are so few pictures. His comment "If it holds no significant value at this time then i store it and try again every few years" tells me he's got an idea dollar-wise in mind, and it may be more than it's actually worth, even to someone who wants it. My starting point, as I see it, is the price of a decent parts car. It may be far nicer than it appears. Or far worse.

It dont matter what this seller has to sell hes looking for that fat sucker fish all while something of little value continues to deteriorate. Bet it dont end up in his garage unless he just got it to flip and think its like the older chargers that go for gold.

I do not have an asking price at this time i am inquiring to see if it has any value at this time.

I will be getting it moved to my garage in the next few weeks and cleaning it up before i can update the post with interior pictures and more information. I will probably take down this post for a few weeks to avoid the overwhelming is it available inquiries and repost when it is cleaned out.

The 85 to 87 Shelby Chargers are the turbo versions.

Three poor pictures and fishing for offers? The seller's being difficult right off the bat.

$500 would be my top offer but I would make the seller put a number on the car first. If that number is $1k, or more, they're dreaming.
