Guy brought me and Older AFB to rebuild and I know someones been thru it before. The Question is does anybody know which way the rear boosters are supposed to be installed? Air bleed hole to the front or the rear, It can be installed either way. I searched pics online and can find them installed both ways. Anyone know for sure, Thanks.

It is a model 4131S off a 1966 Sport Fury. That is a Nice breakdown but no good pics or info about the secondary

Some Mopar AFBs mount the secondary boosters at the sides as his carb does. His primary boosters are mounted correctly but I would have to remove the secondary boosters and look at their mounting surfaces to determine if they are?

I have three different 66 FSM's. All of them show essentially the same picture of this part of the carb. None of them are really clear enough to see that bleed hole.

Maybe, if you squint really hard and had to pick a spot, towards the primaries.

However, the FSM is very specific about making sure the primary venturies are replaced in their original locations, but those are pretty obvious how they have to go. Not a peep about the secondaries, so I am thinking it does not matter.

The front boosters will only go in one way correctly due to the vent tubes, the rears you should be able to look at the mating surfaces on the bottom of the boosters and make sure the fuel transfer slots align with the base scope wrench twocents
The later rear boosters have a small alignment notch cut in the booster bodies that will not allow you to swap them to the wrong sides in the rear scope up

I believe this carb has them. I circled the area that has the cutout and there should be a corresponding raised area inside the carburetor.

Carb body does Not have any casting that prevents installing the boosters from being installed the other way.

looking at the boster /casting the the air bleed looks to go to the main well and the two outer holes are blind in the main body. So it looks to me like it doesn't matter. Maybe that's why they aren't keyed in any way.

I just put it back together the same way it came apart. Will run it after the car is back together and see if there are any issues.

If you can read the number the 828 goes on side opposite of accelerator pump. The 829 goes on the pump side.
