Hello,

Is anyone aware of a HD aftermarket rear leaf spring shackle hanger for my 68 gts? The stock mounts leave much to be desired.

You need new OEM equivalent or you want an upgrade to the OEM?

Here's an example of equivalent:

I have sliders on my other car and prefer them over the OE mounts. I am trying to keep this project to bolt in parts however I might change my mind.

After extensive searching on the net I discovered that Classic industries sells a HD hanger. I will post a picture once they arrive.

Anybpdy have pics of a 68 a body with sliders?

Not a lot really. The rear shackle hanger is pretty wimpy in stock form. My car has a power adder and a manual transmission so it can be hard on things.

Do you use Super stock springs with the sliders? Can you post or send me pics of how you set them up?

if you are talking about the upper shackle hanger that bolts on with two staggered 5/16" [?] bolts, those are pretty easy to fabricate using heavier material than the factory items.
it's been a while since i made some, [many years, actually] but it wasn't a complicated endevour by any stretch of the imagination.
just heavy wall box tube trimmed to shape using the original piece to make a cardboard template, and a heavy wall piece of tube that will fit the bushings.
drill the two mounting holes after shaping the box tube, drill the bushing tube holes, weld in the bushing tube, done.
one hour each if you are old and "half fast" like i am......... biggrin
used to do this quite frequently, as my brother was always buying "darts" [our family's common name for all A bodies] that had crusty upper shackle mounts. [along with crusty rear rails, trunk floors above the mounts, etc. but those stories are for another time. laugh2]
