'383 Mopar engine short block.
Fresh rings, turned crank with new bearings. New camshaft in it, pic of the cam numbers in the pics.

Bought it from a buddy that build engines with the plan to put it in our 69 big block Dart GTS so I could keep the stroker motor currently in the car because we "were" going to sell the car. The plan changed and we're keeping the car so I don't need this engine.'

That's mine. laugh2

Dan Smith did the work on it and I bought it from him.
He had built it for someone else an then ended up with it.

What it say here is exactly what is going on.
Bought it from a buddy that build engines (Dan) with the plan to put it in our 69 big block Dart GTS so I could keep the stroker motor currently in the car because we "were" going to sell the car. The plan changed and we're keeping the car so I don't need this engine.'

We were going to sell the 69 383 auto GTS (which has been a race car since the 70's) after we got the 70 U-Code Cuda.
Originally we were going to restore the Dart GTS, but getting the Cuda which needs a full resto and will get some modifications (mini tubs and a Dan Smith built stroker motor).
Being realistic, I knew that the Dart would probably never see a restoration and until the U-Code Cuda was done and there's a buddy's 72 340 Cuda that I have to do first.
The wife said if you want it as a race car it's smarter to keep it and have fun with it.
Now we're keeping the Dart and it will stay a race car with the stroker motor (Dan Smith built it also) in it.
It might get freshened up looks wise but will never get restored and will stay a race car as long as we have it.

As far as the 383, a guy is supposed to come get it after he gets off work tomorrow.
I guess we'll see. laugh2

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol
