I hope it's real. I've said for years that I believe making Ram a stand alone was a marketing faux pa, at least on trucks

I asked on a TRX Forum if anyone knew someone making grilles or partials for TRX's to replace "RAM". I want big bold DODGE on the front of mine!

I never understood the appeal of "Ram". They split RAM from Dodge back in the FCA days due to them being on the brink and thinking if Dodge went down they didnt want them to take the truck unit with it which was a self filling cash register.

I never understood the appeal of "Ram". They split RAM from Dodge back in the FCA days due to them being on the brink and thinking if Dodge went down they didnt want them to take the truck unit with it which was a self filling cash register. Plus it allows the truck brand RAM to be marketed on its own in all parts of the world by FCA. FCA has RAM as a sponsor of the world Motocross GP (MXGP) series that holds events all over the World. Naming it RAM or its own brand makes no conflict as to what they are marketing and selling. Sergio Marchionne was pretty smart in knowing the North American market along with the world market too. He was Canadian and Italian and knew from things like what the Japanese had done when the wanted to get into the luxury car market they didn't come out with high end Toyotas or Hondas or Nissans they created Lexus (supposedly but maybe not Luxury EXport United States) and Acura and Infinity. VW tried with the VW Phaeton and failed miserably here in the US as VW had an economy car image and no one was going to pay high end cost for a VW luxury car no matter how good it was. Mr. Marchionne said he was going to make Dodge the Performance brand and it surely became that. Chrysler was going to be the luxury brand and may or may not really made it there but the Pacifica and 300 made a small mark. And JEEP surely is a world marketing product and stand-alone success. RAM of course was and is the TRUCK brand and is also a world stand-alone success. If you say RAM then most people know what you are talking about. If you were to say "I have a Dodge Laramie" I would bet far less would know the type of vehicle you own. Oh and did Plymouth make trucks? (my point just saying ) I will admit it took me a LONG(horn) time to not day Dodge Ram but eventually got used to it and why Sergio had the brand head towards a better world marketing direction. DODGE PERFORMANCE MUSCLE. RAM TRUCKS.
