If you're looking at wheels be careful of the offset and inner diameter. I bought a set of regular Charger wheels for my 06 daytona and they wouldn't fit over the brake rotors.

I’m converting my 64 Dart to 5 x 4.5 and was considering using a late model factory rim.

No. The new bolt circle is 115 mm which is 4.528"

They will fit on, but like John said, No. The stud will not be truly centered in the bolt hole.

i'm not sure where i saw this, but there are some lugnuts out there that have a "base" that kind of "self centers" on the stud holes, allowing slightly different wheel and axle bolt patterns to be used safely.
this is supposing the wheel's center registry hole and the axle's hub registry od are compatible.

apparently the 2014 era of chargers were 4.5 or 114.3 but I haven't tried one to confirm it.
not sure if the center registry is big enough either.
there apparently are a lot of newer cars that use the bolt pattern, but not much have the larger center registry hole.
found some tacoma rims that would work apparently, but never pulled the trigger.
had the correct off set too.

That is WRONG, they are NOT 4.5 inch or 114.3 mm.

They are 115 mm which is different.
All 2005 on Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300's, 2006 on Dodge Chargers and 2008 on Challengers are the 115 mm bolt circle.

Putting the 5 on 4.5 inch (114.3 mm) bolt pattern wheels puts a side load on the wheel studs that they weren't designed for.
The tapered seat lug nuts will be forced out of proper centering.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

Thanks that is what I was looking for. Did some research after posting this and found the new rims are 5 x 4.52 so the side load on the studs makes sense.

You would be the one who is wrong. I have a set of those rims on my 51 Plymouth. Bought them new, Dorman 939-137.

Go look at the applications, too.

https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-66648-939-137.aspx

Bolt Pattern: 5 x 114.3

Fits the center hub perfectly as well.

Rockauto has them under $60 a corner.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/dorman,939137,wheel,7644

Backspacing is different so test fit carefully. I bought one and did a tire mockup on it

Video of the clearance, read the above first to make sense of the video.

My question is why in the He11 did they have to bastardize everything and change it to metric? SAE was just fine for HOW long? I grew up with 1/8s, 1/16ths, 1/4"s and thousandths of an INCH.
I have thousands of dollars spent (hate to think how many more $$it would have been if it was all spent in 2024 dollars) in saw tooling that I can't hardly use anymore. I mean I do a little at home since I got so much older stuff... But almost never at the job...

It's the Borg effect.

You will be assimilated, resistance is futile.
