hi
'71 A-body, Hooker long-tube headers. I've seen Summit's at $209, Pypes at $298. Anywhere else cheaper?

yeah I guess you could go to Auto zone and pick up a bunch of straight pipe, clamps, turbo mufflers and some flex pipe and have a go of it.
I used Summit 3" on my 70 Charger. Fit was pretty good and the Summit cheap mufflers sound good.

Hey Brian is this the one at summit you were looking at?
That seems pretty good. It's made for your headers too. It looks like you could bolt that up yourself and have shop weld it for you, or just use the clamps for now.

Seriously, I may think about that LOL. Open headers are fun, but I get a LOT of dirty looks. Also, I took it for a spin around the block yesterday. Felt good!

only thing I don't like about Summits kit is the tail pipes are 2 piece.

I think you could get 4 pieces of flex pipe for about 20 bucks a pop

I buy all the mandrel bands and a couple sticks of straight pipe from summit and make my own usually. The local muffler shops charge waaaayyyy too much + they don't offer mandrel bent tubing.
