When you buy an engine like this how do you know its a winner? Ask for a guarantee?

Compression test and magnaflux on the spot?

Curious because we have all been burned at least one time while searching for a good 340..

Thanks,

Looking for affordable 72-74 Cuda parts

My personal opinion on any used engine is that if I couldn't hear it run before purchase, I would only buy it as a core with plans to tear it down (for at least an inspection) before installation.
