Only drawbacks there is the cost, and you have to have the applicator gun to use it. I was shocked to see the guy in the video did not sand, clean or prep the wheel and cracks before starting. Adhesives 101A first chapter. Yes! prep is key to making it last. All the old cracks will likely be full of dirt, oils, and schmutz from your hands--use a dremel to grind the cracks so you are certain to be down to clean, solid, plastic.

PC-7 epoxy is what Eastwood sells in their kits.
You can get it at the hardware store much cheaper.
I did mine about 10 years ago and despite the extreme temps here in Kansas, it's holding up nicely.
I wish I had before pics because it was REALLY bad and missing large pieces. I used an angle grinder and dremel tool to get to clean metal and plastic.
One key to painting is bolt it to the engine stand so you can rotate it!
'63 Dodge 330 11.19 @ 121 mph Pump gas, n/a, through the mufflers on street tires with 3.54's. 3,600 lbs. 10.01 @ 133mph with a 250 shot of nitrous an a splash of race gas. 1.36 60 ft. 3,700 lbs.
