The vice grips guy IIRC ran drag week put wheels on his car with the wrong lug nuts. Tried explain that it was something else that caused the wheel to fall off, eat the studs and 1/4 panel.

Nah, man, put the right lugs on and the wheel likely stays firmly attached.

Thanks for that tip JDMopar, I'll have to look Dave up on Youtube. I check out his DB Restorations website out from time to time to see what he's up to, but it sounds like he may have a lot more content on Youtube.

Another one, the show is better off without. Knew nothing about Mopars, and did nothing of value for the show.

Fixed it for you! I think Mark's daughter has been with maybe two different guys now, since divorcing Mr. Rose.
I think it's cool Mark is making a copy of his first Mopar (1970 Charger)..how many of us would like to have our very first car, back in our hands...I know I would.

Yes! Remaking his first car shows he's a car guy and one of the reasons I wrote I'd actually like to hang out with him. I bet he has funny stories from his youth, as many of us do! His antics are for TV.

Nope, I don’t mean Dave, the show started out entertaining with Mopar content as the background for various antics.
I don’t care for watching step by step of how to assemble stuff, it’s boring. I don’t care about chalk marks & date codes. Watching Dave or anyone else assemble a 70 Charger bumper assembly or put a fastback 67-69 Barracuda interior together is as exciting as watching paint dry. Watching Mark quiz his unknowable daughter about vins & data plates is ridiculous, I’ve got a redbook & GG white books, I don’t need to hear mark spew that info. It used to be entertaining & it isn’t now.

There are shows on YouTube where the guys just weld up the new panels etc and no bs. It can be hard to follow a build though. People without a crew have spaces in releases so works best to watch one a few years old so it’s all there.

I have MT and will keep it, but I’m getting sick of the shop builds on roadkill. Original concept was to fire something up and road trip it as close to dead as possible. Now cars get whole new mechanicals out on every inch of the car before they hit the road. That was the roadkill garage concept and it meets expectations, but not the original show.

I want my fair share

I don't see vice grip garage being any better then graveyard cars. His oddball phrases and antics are funny the first few times but is more repetitive then what Mark does. I used to watch him but the driving junk cross country and half ass repairs gets old over time. Still catch it when I'm bored.

Graveyard cars youtube uploads are more annoying then the show is on TV. They cut out a lot of the good stuff and you get excited to see they've uploaded a new episode only to find they just edited and repackaged episodes from a Month or so ago and theres no order to it either. Theyd be better off uploading random behind the scene stuff then videos that have been recycled over and over. At least it was nice to watch some new stuff on YouTube after not getting it on TV for a while.

Yeah the pandemic hair was a bit strange but a lot of people were doing that and his new look is creepy for sure. In a way he doesn't add much to the show it's more interesting to see what his guys are doing and working on. Before the show stsrted he used to write a newspaper colum about various classic car related things that was usually interesting to read.

Even the shop builds, are thrown together junk, with stuff the guys have laying around. Most car guys have plenty of extra junk sitting around, that can be reused. I have no problem with them improving the cars they already have. It's to show that once the car is driving, it can be upgraded over time, and make it better, and better. I've been to car shows, that the owner got it barely running 20 years ago, and then just gave up, and the car hasn't changed since then. Personally, I like to make improvements every year.

Oh I didn't think about that being pandemic hair. Forgot. He is a likeable guy though IMO unlike his business partner.

I agree ! Full Custom Garage .. that guy is talented ! and he seems down to earth .. can't watch KIndig between that weird goat tee and the way to modified cars ... Iron Resurection is good also talented but not enough Mopars... at least Freilberger and Dulcich have a lot of Mopars ...I like Texas Metal also and some of the trucks he does ... I like GYC .. I get a kick out of seeing Tony ... I remember him when he lived in Orange Cty. N.Y. and ran a GTX at my local track years ago.

I hesitate to say this......but if you like custom cars and fabrication. Check out Bad Chads you tube vids. Nothing like the show that was on a few years ago, other than he does use too much "rock guard"

I know he has his haters and some of his stuff can appear to be rough but he is building a 50 Ford 2 door right now that I would call an extreme custom. Not much of it is to my taste but the top chop was very interesting, and I could not believe how quickly he did it.. I would also suggest watching him build the "tanker". Very cool. He is also building a replica Bugatti from nothing. The guys uses very little more than an angle grinder and a mig welder.

Couple words of advice if you decide to watch some of it. They are about an hour long, I find myself fast forwarding through a lot of the angle grinding as once I watch about 30 seconds of that I "got it" and can move to the next operation lol

As an aside, I don't know the whole story, but he spent time at Gene Winfields shop learning how they did customs back in the day.
