I had H series bearings, .010 under size, in my BMP block and need another set. I want a half grove, anybody have them?

I'm not sure the H series Clevite is the same as it was in the past. I'd look for other manufacturers and be open to some input from current experiences.

I have used everything from Clevite HG, Sealed Power and as of late King bearings. I prefer King bearings these days, they offer more of a selection to get the proper clearances as needed and come coated for not much more than Clevites uncoated bearings. Obviously, coating cost more from Clevite. I have King bearings in my latest 440 with over 55,000 on it and 5 seasons on my Hemi and they still look like new.

Sean, exactly! I ordered sealed power, but don't really want a 3/4 grove, as a half grove provided the best results, according to one site. So i will fontinue to look around. Only the best when pushing things hard.

I've had zero issues with the 3/4 groove groove bearings. Never hurt a main in 12 years.

Thanks Doug. As I rrecall, you also use a lighter oil than I do.

Are you sure you don't want your rods and rod baring to have full time oiling, especially in a race motor above 5500 RPM work I've used full groove main bearings in every motor I've built since the early 1070s.
I now use the narrow full groove bearings on all my build, street, street and strip and race only motors.
I like lots of bearing to crankshaft clearances also, .0025 + on the rods and .0030+ on the main bearings. I like and use high volume oil pumps with thin oil also, 5W20 WT or 10W30 Wt. up
10 Lbs. of pressure per 1000 RPM with hot oil, IE 7500 RPM 75+Lbs oil pressure twocents up

Mine uses 5w25. I've had one rod bearing failure in 1000 passes. Probably my own fautt. Wheelied and bent the pan. Ran it another 20 passes. Fixed the pan but the windage tray had shattered. Put it together without it. Ran another 20 or so and it started slowing down. Continued to run it until it failed. Dumb. But no fault of the oil or the bearings in my opinion. The other 6 rod bearings and all 5 mains looked like they came out of the box.

I'd run a 3/4 groove bearing if it was available. They were never available for the low deck stuff I was doing back in the day but they would be a good choice for an RB. The engine builder I work with prefers King bearings for Mopars these days but sometimes they are hard to find.

Same here Cab.Full groove, No problems with bearings ever. I pretty much run the same setups as you do. Except I run a little heavier oil at those clearances. Even reused my current bearings a couple years ago when we got in a jam due to covid.

Thanks all for the input. I ordered a set of Sealed Power 119m-10, sounds like they will do the job.

When I was looking for bearings on my current stuff Todd Marsh was very helpful, I bought that same '119' main bearing on his recommendation from him.
