I have a love / hate relationship with my modified T/A scoop... cuz it's so freakin' big. But I found some pics of 340 Rick's old Challenger w/ the 5" VFN scoop and figured I post 'em up like those silly celebrity "Who wore it better?" fashion comparisons... laugh2

I like the gentler slope at the rear of the scoop better, but either is fine and better than some adaptations I've seen.
Then again, I'm an idiot to some here, I guess, because I don't mind cowl induction scoops.

I happen to think E-bodies look pretty good w/ cowl scoops and had considered one for a while

I'm with topside- Gentler slope at the rear for the win. (but barely, both look good). And the purists need to chill- cowl scoops look pretty darn good on e bodys. Face it- a 70 "cuda is basically a really good looking 69 Camaro. And with that, I'm outta here!

This subject gets thrown around a lot ,didn't the 70 RR/GTX come with cowl style hoods whistling

The TA scoop is my personal favorite on a Challenger. Stock or modified height. On the plus side they were designed to get the entrance above the boundary layer of air on the hood so should be very functional.

They both look great. Hopefully it won't try to tear itself off the car at speed.
Everyone loves to cry about cowl hoods on mopars, but for the classes that prohibit a forward facing scoop...what exactly are you supposed to do?

I like the concept of the scoop I just wish it was more like 5" over the carb and tapered down to say 4" or even 4 1/2" at the opening... and the openings themselves were more rounded to (instead of rectangular) to more resemble the original T/A

I like them both. Because of both of your cars, I almost went with the same taller T/A scoop as yours. Until I was able to get a good deal on a Shaker hood, so I made my Super Shaker scoop and hood. Most don't like it, but I don't care. I like to be different.

They both look good.

I even like the "Super Shaker", looks like a bad azz helmet on the muscular shoulders of that Hemi!
