Stumbled onto this on FBM:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3504332119877114/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A9f52e771-d319-43e8-99e2-56cc6767f539

I have my donor chassis already. But some one else here may be looking for a ready to use Dakota chassis.

Stumpy's link worked for me.

Looks like a great starting point. That frame looks cleaner then the one I put under my 48 truck.

Found this on FBM today, only $800:

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/880185180119930/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Acc4cbef8-dff4-4ad1-ab27-4571e96fed70

From the looks of it, might be able to part out whatever is left after stripping it down to the chassis. May be able to get the Durango for "free" after selling all the rest off.

I wonder if my buddy that lives in Clarkston knows the seller?
I know of a 4wd 99 Dakota frame with a running engine, (3.9) trans and transfer case in NW Indiana for the same money, I believe that one was originally a club cab.

Just for the record, mounting a late 40s or most 50s sheet metal on a Dakota/ Durango 4x4 frame adds another level of difficulty to the swap. The 4x4 chassis is another 6" higher at the top of the frame then a 2wd chassis is.

On the 40s & 50s Dodge trucks, the cab sits closer to the front wheels then it does on a Dakota/Durango. If you are doing a 4x4 chassis, I might suggest a Durango frame, it has more HD torsion bars.

Just something to keep in mind.

There is a build thread here on Moparts where I put "49 Dodge pickup sheet metal on a Dakota 4x4 chassis". That thread is in the Street Rod section, about 1/2 way down page 1.
