I guess I will just post what I have collected on this specific thread to help the next person or if anyone wants to bookmark, that works too.

Also, if anyone would like to correct me here, please do, I have gathered bits and pieces here and there but could have very easily missed something.

KEYWORDS = LYNCH ROAD RD Rd rd fender tag codes

SG/Dana Differential Codes
'69 - 586(3.23SG), 591(3.55SG), 592(3.23SG), 594(3.55SG), 596(3.54DANA), 597(3.54SG), 642(3.91SG), 643(3.91SG), 644(4.10DANA), 999(A12-4.10DANA)
'70 - 052(3.55SG), 053(3.23SG), 055(3.55SG), 056(3.23SG), 057(3.91SG), 058(3.91SG), 082(3.54DANA), 083(3.54DANA), 084(4.10DANA)
'71 - 043(3.23SG), 045(3.23SG), 046(3.55SG), 047(3.55SG), 048(3.91SG), 050(3.54DANA), 051(3.54DANA), 052(4.10DANA)

Big Block Engine/Transmission Codes
'70 - 112 426 8-bbl (Four Speed), 113 426 8-bbl (Automatic), 114 440 4-bbl (Four Speed), 115 440 4-bbl (Automatic), 122 440 6-bbl (Four Speed), 123 440 6-bbl (Automatic).

Your rearend coding doesn't include brake size , for every 8 3/4 ratio there are 2 possible brake size configurations for SA and with SG, the 2 different possibilities also exist for Dana 60's except for the 999 69 code which was only 11" brakes.

But yeah, most won't help directly, but the OP will learn things.
(That's not a snide remark - I've been at this stuff since the '60s, and I learn things all the time)

I saw that on one of them but it looked as though it was for every plant except LR , but I didn't follow the link so I don't know ?

Than Chrysler could sue him for deciphering what 051 means on a fender tag.

I could be wrong though. But in any event, just posting what the numbers mean does not seem like a copyright issue. Now if you were to scan the pages from his book directly, yeah, that could be a problem.

Well I'm lazy so it would be scans of his books , way too much typing .

As far as Chrysler getting him, Chrysler Historical is where he got the info from and I'm sure he told them exactly what he planned to do with the information once he had it.

I, as others, are more than happy to answer any questions people have about codes.
