Dial indicators are used extensively on snap-gages, throughout
the machining industry for tolerances down to at least .0001" It's
much quicker and highly accurate. I've used them for years.

The real nice ones yes, but a standard indicator (like the one pictured) is only good down to .0005. The crappiest mics out there are good to .0001. I'm not seeing the logic, I guess it's just faster with a DI...

A Mic that measure to 1/10th of a thou is useless in the wrong hands, a stretch gauge or snap gauge takes the user's "feel" out of the equation. They are a very accurate measuring device that can be used quickly and consistantly. A Mic with spherical anvils could be used, but the stretch gauge would be just as accurate and much faster.

Unless you are in a temperature controlled environment, measuring to 0.0001" is futile, the size will change just holding the mic in your hand too long.

Nice! Keep us posted on the runner progress as well.

Thanks to Todd at Marsh Performance for pulling strings and getting it up to you so quickly, great guy to deal with.

I have to give Thanks to Dennis at AFD cylinder heads we had to patch heads back together after 2008 EM. seat and guide work on sundays LOL fun stuff. got the on the flow bench tonight at AFD. Not bad but could be better just to fast over ST. I think wse are just going to stay on the safe side but... the set up in this head with more ST work would make Killer power on a all out engine.

What are the cubic inch rules this year?

I am not causing global warming, I am just trying to hold off a impending Ice Age!

Have you tried flowing the head with the intake, and carb?

Not to Hijack your post Brett, but I figured I'd introduce myself here before the EMC in October. Our team (SKMFX Engine) has been accepted and myself being a Mopar fan have chosen to enter a 471 low deck stroker. All I really want at this point is to not embarass ourselves! I truly cannot wait for October and the chance to meet you and the other competitors. I am sure it will be a humbling experience to say the least. J.Rob

No I did not have time to do that yet would like to have that data but I would like to be on the dyno in 2 weeks(good luck with that LOL) and I still need parts..... and need to finish the other head and match up the intake. I will give it a shot(flow intake/carb on the head) What did you think of the flow #s ? This is now a 2.08" intake valve so if it did not back up over .650" would be darn nice head. I think it would make big power on all out Drag engine.

I would have tried a 2.125 valve. Did this on a project I'm working on right now, and it actually works quite well! Flow #'s look alright, but .400 and .500 are low compared to larger intake valve that I've tried.
How fast is the port where you are accessing (.100 below max lift at the valve measured)?
