Wow, that's nice - and with the chrome wheels, looks like it never left 1964.
The Maxie exhaust is an interesting (and to me, appealing) touch.
At $49,000 OBO I'm curious what it'll actually sell for.
Chestnut may hold it back, but OTOH it's a pretty rare color, I think.
Restoration cost/mint-original equation of course applies.

Wonder how original it is when you look at it up close?

Looks very shiny. Underside rear end looks like could be repainted. Seats look awful fuffy and fresh.

I think it's being sold by some listing agency or dealer. Says previous owner had it 10 years. These cars get embellished from owner to owner. Especially the "original" and "survivor" status.

Here's 68K mile seats. 8k miles since 1981.

The color looks more like Sandalwood than Chesnut brown, but hard to tell for sure. Does look too shiny for original.

As far as originality, it looks like a very well cared-for car with under 40K on it.
A rare occurrence, but I've seen it.
Likely had a "paint correction" and a very good detailing, but I see a lot of items that look legit original.
This is what a 17,000-mile original '69 RR can look like.
Up close, there are stone chips and imperfections, but it's led a pampered life except for some early drag racing.

I leaned on the yellow one a few times

beer and you were right - it's a real sweetheart of a car.

So, the '64 MAY be as nice in person as in the photos.
That's beyond rare, but it's possible...

Long time ago, I bought this ol grandma 64 , it had a pretty rough life with her bouncing off door openings but, the inside was almost as nice as the one posted.

I’d be more impressed if it didn't look as good in person. Flash photos and dealer lighting can make things appear really glossy.

I like the car a bunch and acknowledge 4 speeds are somewhat rare and the 426 wedge is certainly rare, but that seems like a strong asking price even if a survivor. Not outrageous, but strong.
