Hi everyone .
Well got out to racing another NDRC national event on the weekend . I had planned/entered an event at mt local track here in Sydney . Hiwever weather caused a postponement so I tried my luck for a late entry to South Coast Raceways NDRC event . South Coast is a western conference round . Got an entry so off I went Friday in convoy with my mate . 14 hrs later we arrived .
I have raced here before , great 1/8 mile track with good prep and great crew and racers . The track us virtually on the southern coast if Australia , when its not windy its blowing a gale .
2 day event 3 qualifiers Saturday race Sunday .
Qualified #4 but could not find the tree all weekend . Not sure if because tree is incandesent abd I have run LED for last few years, but a bunch had same issue .
Race day I chose to run right lane all day , pretty normal .
Csr was running solid and with other lane red in semi I got a full pass . Then it was a 15 min hot turn around to final . So I added 1 number in dial to allow for heat .
Still couldnt get a great tree but for sure better than the other guys . At least till final . Michael rolled his 70 Nova in deep and dropped a 0.008 on me. Could not match it and broke out on brake with a 6.60 on a .62 .
Overall a real good weekend on a late decision entry and as a banker event towards end of season .
Puts me into 4th in Western and 1st I think in Eastern but really sets me up for grand final invitational 🤞
So thats 4 rounds - 1/4 final , semi and 2 runner ups .

Congrats on the final round. Sounds like a fun time. 2nd place is a love/hate thing for me. You probably know what I mean. up

14 hours worth of driving for 1/8th mile racing is dedication. Great job!!

Joel , for sure love hate with runner up . Though rather plaque than early exit and nothing .
Trip times are just a result of fewer tracks here , and its a wide open land . Not much interstate highway , a lot of 2 lane blacktop .

Congrats on another final. Hang in there it will come. I was in 15 NHRA finals before I finally won one. I alwasy looked at is hey I was better than everyone but one guy in the class. Easier to load up when everyone is gone anyway smile

thanks guys
Al I know what you mean better RU than 1st round . early this year I was struggling a little but knew I just needed a little more to get on a roll .I did win my first and only tree so far in 2022 , But was real keen for this one as it was the last Summit Racing series one .
Bit of a breather now as I wont run a NDRC event till the Australia Day Top Fuel event 26/27 January .
