Thinking of changen over from mud to drag racing, I havent been to the track in 25 years so my knowledge is very limited, With a 600hp small block what would be the best car set up to go with and what kind of classes could I run?

Find the lightest car you can... Look at the tracks
in your area to see what the classes are... I'm sure
you have bracket racing but you might look into the
heads up stuff if its there. You might just go to the
track and watch a few times to see what appeals to
you... ask the drivers what they think is the most
appealing

Good point Mr P, There are 2 1/8 mile tracks within 1 hr of me, Hell I am only used to 200ft so that may be a good starting point, You guys are killin me with the old mopar pics and I may be out gunned from the big motors this year, I startin to worry about my old 59* block , I will need to turn it past 7500 this year to compete and I dont think its up to the task

Just think about how much better it will be for your water bill! bringing home a clean car.

Do your local mud drags have any kind of daily driver class? Some of my jeep buddies and I have been talking about going to the mud drags some weekend(about 1 hour from here IIRC) just to see what its like and to play around.

It seems the street classes here in NC are where the action is at, the high hp mod classes are good at the big money races , Hill and hole racing is gettin big here and the flat track is slowin down, I wont miss the 8hr prep time to race for a total seat time of under 4 secs twice a night
