article from Bloomberg News about the Tesla Cybertruck that has less detail about stainless steel problems, but adds details about 800 volt electrical system and the new Panasonic 46 mm diameter, 80 mm height lithium cells: https://www.arcamax.com/business/businessnews/s-2995156?fs

Those things are painful to look at. Guess I missed that they're supposed to be stainless on top of being hideous. Styling-wise, might as well make 'em from plywood, like some guy did for (I guess) a joke. But they might be rather opaque to police radar with that F117 look.

https://www.autoblog.com/2023/11/29...-biden-to-tap-the-brakes-on-ev-mandates/sample quote According to The Wall Street Journal, new-car dealers (including those who didn't sign the letter) are sitting on a 103-day supply of EVs, versus a 56-day supply of all cars regardless of fuel type. Selling an EV takes about 65 days, or twice as long as a gasoline-burning model. Ultimately, "the supply of unsold BEVs is surging, as they are not selling nearly as fast as they are arriving at our dealerships — even with deep price cuts, manufacturer incentives, and generous government incentives." end quote

“Tesla of the Seas” Swedish Water School Bus uses Li batteries, costs $213,000 https://www.aol.com/news/tesla-seas-students-school-sweden-091141996.htmlsample quote “Batteries are currently just too heavy for the amount of energy that they provide,” he says. “Boats and ships are very weight sensitive. For every kilogram of diesel or gasoline, a boat needs to carry 40 kilograms of batteries to have the same energy output. Boats and ships have to carry all of their energy with them, so carrying around 40 times the weight of their energy is cost prohibitive as well as design prohibitive.” end quote Any moparts members running their bass boat trolling motors with 12 volt E-bike lithium batteries?

https://www.arcamax.com/business/businessnews/s-2998986?fssample quote Musk has sought to set his rugged pickup far apart from rivals, starting with a radically angular, polarizing look and much-hyped features such as bulletproof and arrowproof doors and "armor glass" windows. Such "apocalypse technology," as Musk referred to it, has led some analysts to question whether the truck — which starts at $60,990 — could ever achieve mainstream success the way Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y have. The Cybertruck, which Musk boasted has the handling and speed of a sports car, has towing capacity of 11,000 pounds, a maximum payload of 2,500 pounds and a 340-mile estimated range. "We have a car here that experts said was impossible, that experts said would never be made," Musk said. "Finally, the future will look like the future." end quote needs the option of a low profile internal combustion generator that fits in the bed

Walter Isaacson was allowed to follow Musk around for a couple years and has completed a biography that is reviewed here: https://www.realclearmarkets.com/ar...csons_spellbinding_elon_musk_995682.htmlNote that reviewer John Tamny is not a “conventional economist” Albert Einstein’s elementary school principal in Germany told his parents that Albert was retarded. Elon Musk’s high school principal told his mother Elon was retarded. Isaacson’s book recounts that Musk has “almost” run out of funds many times.

Those things are painful to look at. Guess I missed that they're supposed to be stainless on top of being hideous. Styling-wise, might as well make 'em from plywood, like some guy did for (I guess) a joke. Have you noticed that EVERYTHING that every manufacturer is selling today is painful to look at. I pity the yutes of today, the man bun generation has been brainwashed to think cars and trucks are supposed to look like a pokemon, a transformer, or a stink bug. That truck will sell like hotcakes.
