We needed another car this year,couldn't work out a deal on a new challenger, so we got vw toas,cool porsche color blue ,panoramic sunroof,turbo 4,heated seats.People stare at it,it's the brightest thing in the parking lot!Well it does have electronic glitches which were worked out after I blew a gasket at the dealership..Our salesman said man I was scared of you!I'm a baby..Lol just a stressed out navy/marie corps vet!lol.Well today after getting our free vet day meal at walleys on lbi,it was rainy and traffic was aliitle busy,Big trucks etc..I moved into the slow lane on the Lbi bridge and the car went into the save gas mode,I accidentally hit the start/stop button the car slammed to a stop yes I know I accidentally hit the button and slammed into park..thought there'd be some type of lock out to prevent it from happening. What if I was a older person and hit the button,not every person has the skills or the luck to get otta that situation.I had my wife and my mother in law scared silly. my wife said honey were getting you a new car!So when we can get a challenger or charge we will!.Thanks for reading...John and Ellie

When I worked at Toyota factory the cars had an alarm that beeped if you put the car in reverse going too fast. Freaked new people out to shove it in reverse at speed. If you slowed enough it would slam though. Hadda watch that.

VW had the most recalls for a car for a few years with the atlas. Bet that’s not the only one they botch up.

I am still getting use to the recall on my truck that you can`t open the door when moving or the trans goes to park.

Just buckle the seat belt behind you. Or do what I did and get a buckle from a salvage yard and keep it handy to snap in. When the seat belt is latched, the truck will go into gear with the door open.

In 2016 I was working the GM Tech Assistance Hotline when they showed us a pre-production Cadillac that did that. I asked the engineer that brought it in if he'd ever been through a carwash where you got out and an employee put it on the the track then jumped out. He said they had a number of examples of why it was a bad idea, but it was something the "safety people" were pushing for. After that actor got run over by his Jeep and killed they all started running scared...

The number of recalls on a vehicle is not nessacarily a good indicator of quality, certainly if it has a buttload of recalls it may be a bit alarming but there are many many things that should be recalled that never get recalled (2.7 dodge engine) so just because it has a low number of recalls also does not mean a whole lot either. Actually a lot of recalls could just be an indicator of a proactive approach by the manufacturer. Also for what it is worth everything I have ever encountered that is made by VW is garbage.

We were in a tough spot and needed another car for me to drive,my wife has a newer hyndai.We wanted a challenger, but financially for us at the time this was a sure deal I was working in retirement at napa but that's done and now in full retirement, once we can slide outta this a nice used newer challenger is what we will do once we can do it and no more high car payment!

I can relate.. a few years ago I was " forced " into retirement and took my company issued profit sharing and purchased a new 21 Ram 1500, 4x4 , quad cab , Hemi , tow package with 3.92 gears etc. I love the truck it tows like a dream and is fun to drive even empty. I really only use it for towing as a matter of fact it only has 10,000 miles on it in a two and a half years . Despite having it " Ziebarted " I don't drive it in the snow or salt. It also has many electronic devices some of which I still haven't figured out like the temperature control etc. It also has the device that if the door isn't closed completely it goes into park and puts e brake on , scared the heck out of me the first couple times. I too have pushed te start button to turn the truck off and it went into accessory mode. The backup camera is awesome for hooking the trailer up !!! Really like the Sirius radio also ! Great truck but it might be too technical for an " old " guy like me . !!! My wife recently leased an Audi Q5 same thing .. still figuring out all the " Tech " stuff !!!

Definitely too much tech stuff..wife is great with computer stuff.she got into all the computer stuff,controlling car tech stuff radio,temp knowing where I am in the car by looking at her phone!Lol she's been jumpy since I had a accident a while ago.The thing has emergency..! Point in different colors..low windshield washer fluid always with a constant Bing!OUTSIDE TEMP BING..etc..messages..close the sunroof too much air resistant s..turn gas saving mode on..don't Rev the motor..you need to save gas..it turns off the motor on its own if it feels it idling to long..like when I get a coffee and Danish at wawa,gotta restart it.we both cant stand the car,she wont drive it,i use it sparing.yes this puppy's gonna take a hike once we can do it!Back to what we know hemi mopar!

I always see commments on old trucks for sale where many people will say they love the simplicity. Yet nobody would buy a new one that was as stripped down like the old stuff or they’d sell them.

Dodge tried this 10 years ago with the charger super bee. Had the body and the motor but a rental car interior, turns out people DO want the tech when spending 40k

Yesterday morning I told my wife I'm bitchin too much about this car,cleaned it,checked the oil etc...We went out last night on the way back home my wife was driving it..a rare occurrence lol and the radio shut off on its own I asked my what did you touch?She said nothing,and said I hate this car!And yes the car has been looked at the dealership before.Theyll be seeing it again!They said after servicing the car for problems after the forth time VW will take the car back.After this we won't buy another car fron Atlantic Chrysler VW again!
